It is with profound sadness that The Bank of Elk River announces the passing of Tom Lund, Executive Vice President/Director of Commercial Lending. Lund passed away on August 17, 2023, leaving behind an enduring legacy of integrity, leadership, and dedication to the banking industry.
Lund joined The Bank of Elk River in 2013 and embarked on a meaningful journey that spanned a decade of significant contributions. Recognized for his brilliant intellect and astute insights, he played a pivotal role in shaping the commercial lending team. His strategic mind and deep understanding of commercial banking made him a sought-after lender for small business owners and a key member of the bank’s executive team.
“Tom was a dedicated, hardworking team member and a close friend to many,” said John Babcock, President/CEO/Chairman of The Bank of Elk River. “His passion, energy, creativity, and commitment to the bank, his team, and his customers were inspiring. We will always remember Tom's unique sense of humor, intelligence, and ability to forge genuine relationships.”
Outside of work, Lund was a loving husband and an amazing father to his two grown children. The Bank of Elk River extends its deepest condolences to Lund’s family and many friends.
Memorials in honor of Lund can be made to the Allina Health Hospice Fund – Wedum Compassion designation.
