The Bank of Elk River will open a new branch in Andover, Minnesota, in late summer 2026. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the bank’s 140-year history, underscoring its commitment to serving the growing communities of Anoka County and the northern suburbs.
“This expansion is more than a new building; it’s a bold step forward for our bank and the communities we serve,” said John Babcock, Chairman, CEO, and President of The Bank of Elk River. “Our goal is to bring personalized banking, innovative technology, and trusted financial expertise closer to our customers in Andover and beyond.”
The branch will be located at 13879 Round Lake Blvd. NW, just north of the intersection of Round Lake Boulevard and Bunker Lake Boulevard. The site was selected for its strong residential growth, vibrant retail and professional sectors, and increasing demand for community banking services. The Bank of Elk River already serves many customers in Andover and the surrounding areas, and this new location will make banking even more accessible and personal.
“We’ve been honored to serve many customers in the Andover area for years, and this branch will allow us to deepen those relationships,” said Bill LaVigne, Chief Operating Officer. “Our team is excited to deliver the same exceptional service and community focus that The Bank of Elk River is known for, now in a convenient Andover location.”
The new branch will feature:
• A modern design and advanced technology with Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) that combine the convenience of an ATM with the personal service of a live teller.
• Full-service banking with dedicated spaces for mortgage lending, commercial banking, and personal banking
• Financial Planning with Realize Financial Advisors, who can provide personalized investment strategies, retirement and estate planning, and insurance services.
“As a community bank, our commitment goes beyond banking; it’s about investing in the places we call home,” said Julia Schreifels, Director of Marketing and Communications. “Giving back isn’t just an initiative; it’s woven into who we are. We’re excited to deepen our partnerships with local organizations in Andover and continue building a stronger, more vibrant community together.”
Groundbreaking for the new branch is anticipated in January, with construction expected to continue through late summer 2026. The Bank is actively hiring mortgage experts, lenders, and customer service specialists to join the Andover team.
