Once enrolled in this free service, your account(s) will benefit from an added layer of security and you will enjoy peace of mind knowing you will receive real time alerts any time fraudulent activity is detected on your account.
Once you have signed up for SMS Guardian Alerts, you will receive text alerts when certain debit card transactions occur. The Bank of Elk River has set the following guidelines based on what is reminiscent of fraudulent activity:
When any of the above conditions are met, SMS Guardian Alerts will send a text alert to your mobile device. An example of an alert looks like this: TBER Guardian Alert on Card 1234 in State = WA at BUSINESS NAME HERE for $325.00- Reply THISCODE99NO if unauthorized. Reply STOP to cancel alerts.
If the charge is accurate and is not fraudulent activity, you do not need to do anything - simply ignore the alert. If the charge is unauthorized, reply to the alert with the correct code. Your card will be blocked and you will be directed to contact The Bank for further instructions.
