Neil Gagnon

Commercial Lender, VP

Globetrotter. Packers super fan. Values transparency.

Neil Gagnon knows his customers’ businesses inside and out. He excels at taking the initiative to build relationships, ask the right questions, and identify trends. Neil has been with The Bank of Elk River since 2000 and specializes in equipment financing, commercial real estate, SBA 504 loans, and lines of credit.

This Green Bay Packers fan grew up in Oak Grove, MN, where his parents ran a family-owned business. The values and rich experience he gained during childhood have uniquely positioned him to understand the challenges of running a small business and the importance of having a strong financial partner.

Neil’s sense of humor often brings business owners to the table, but it’s his transparent commitment to clients’ success and creative problem-solving abilities that bring them back year after year.

“I enjoy developing relationships with business owners and learning all aspects of their operations,” says Neil. “When I fully understand their business, I am better equipped to formulate a comprehensive plan for growth.”

Neil enjoys researching new travel destinations, avoiding the bunkers at the Elk River Country Club, and spending time with his wife and three active children.

Distinctive Iron

"It's been 12 years now since the Bank of Elk River and Distinctive Iron started their relationship. It continues to have a family sense and professional business sense all at the same time. While everyone we work with is nothing short of amazing, we want to take this opportunity to recognize Neil Gagnon for his commitment to continually support us throughout those 12 years. From one employer to another, it always says a lot to have an employee that is devoted to his employer. However, we believe Neil loves what he does, and it shows in the customer service he provides to business and community. He keeps us in line with the documents we need to provide on a periodic basis. He helps us understand what the bank and the accountant are looking for in our books and why this or that is very important. He understands how to present us to your board so that we can all celebrate our accomplishments and what we need as a company for future support. We are always in it together and for that we are sincerely thankful for our relationship with Neil and the Bank of Elk River!"
