LeRoy Lindenfelser named CFO of the Year by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal

The Bank of Elk River is proud to announce that LeRoy Lindenfelser, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has been named 2019 CFO of the Year by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal at a packed awards ceremony held yesterday at The Depot at the Renaissance Hotel in Minneapolis. This exclusive honor is given to only 20 individuals in Minnesota across private, public, government and non-profit organizations and is a significant and notable achievement in his career.

Lindenfelser started at The Bank of Elk River 25 years ago as a loan officer and worked his way up and through the organization and was promoted to CFO in 2008. During the Great Recession, Lindenfelser was influential in leading the bank to being the most profitable in the bank’s history since its inception in 1885. He is also responsible for the fiscal management of the Metro North Bancshares holding company, Employee Stock Ownership Program and investment portfolio.

“It is truly an honor and humbling to be recognized with this distinguished cadre of individuals,” said Lindenfelser. “I am so grateful to be part of The Bank of Elk River organization and the Babcock family, whom care about their staff, the customers, and the communities being served.”

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal recognizes outstanding financial executives who are making an impact in their professions and in communities across Minnesota. An outside panel of experts selects the honorees from candidates across financial institutions, government entities and non-profit organizations.

“LeRoy is well-deserving of this award,” said John Babcock, President, CEO and Chairman at The Bank of Elk River. “His ability to accurately forecast and stay within projections for our financial institution is unmatched. He adds significant value to our organization and I am very pleased to say he is a part of our team.”

Lindenfelser is a life-long resident in the northwest metro area and an active volunteer in the community. He gives back serving as a key resource for local city planning commissions, city councils and economic development associations. He also serves as coach as well as treasurer for local sports teams and his church.

Over 300 people attended the awards ceremony to celebrate the honorees on November 7, 2019. You can read more about LeRoy and other honorees here.
