The Bank of Elk River Named Community Champion

The Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) recently named the Bank of Elk River as a recipient of the Community Champion Award for the bank’s commitment to community involvement.

“We are a community bank, first and foremost, we invest our time, talents, and donations directly to the communities we serve,” said Julia Schreifels, Director of Marketing and Communications. “Our employees volunteer with local nonprofits, we financially support local organizations, and we host family-friendly events yearlong.”

To date, The Bank of Elk River has donated more than $86,000, employees have logged 1,000+ volunteer hours, and the bank has participated in over 100 events.

“Minnesota banks provide an extraordinary level of commitment to the communities they serve,” said MBA President/CEO Joe Witt. “In addition to providing the capital that helps families and local businesses thrive, the banking industry’s record of supporting charitable and community causes is second to none.”

During the MBA’s September Community Impact Month, 84 banks and 353 bank branches devoted more than 3,600 volunteer hours, completed hundreds of community service projects, and donated tens of thousands of dollars to charitable organizations. In total, more than 230 cities in Minnesota were impacted by their efforts.
