The Bank of Elk River Named among Top Extraordinary Banks in the Nation
The Bank of Elk River has recently been named one of the top extraordinary banks in the nation by The Institute for Extraordinary Banking™.
The Bank of Elk River was recognized with a 2022 Banky™ award for its strong commitment to community banking. This recognition is given to the top 1% of community banks across the country; only 43 were recognized for their outstanding efforts. The Bank of Elk River was recognized for its commitment to customer service, financial stability, philanthropy, workplace culture, innovation, and financial literacy.
“This award is a direct reflection of the communities we serve,” said Julia Schreifels, Director of Marketing and Communications. “Many people are unaware that the difference between a community bank and a nationally known bank is that we invest our time, talents, and donations locally. We serve on local non-profits, boards, and committees. We provide free family entertainment, volunteer in schools, and donate thousands of dollars in local scholarships. We also know our customers by name; each person is important to us.”
The Extraordinary Banking™ Awards highlight local community banks' vital yet often overlooked role in our nation's economy. The Extraordinary Banking™ Awards recognize the best of what community banks offer to our cities, towns, and country: a genuine commitment to the success of the small businesses and local communities that they serve.
Roxanne Emmerich, Chair and Founder of The Institute for Extraordinary Banking™, said, “Community banks are the backbone of America. They are what keeps a community thriving. When a community bank leaves a community, small businesses often struggle to stay, and jobs leave. Every robust community has a strong community bank that understands how to help that community thrive and grow.”
