Information Technology Specialist (Help Desk Specialist II)


The Bank of Elk River currently has a full time opening for an Information Technology Specialist (Help Desk Specialist II) and is seeking an experienced professional to fill this position.

This position is responsible for providing technical support to staff by promptly and professionally responding to inquiries and requests for assistance with bank’s computers, applications and related technology. Able to identify, analyze and resolve more complex software and hardware issues quickly and efficiently. This position is responsible for the set up and maintenance of all workstations and performs software and application installation/upgrades. This position will require approximately 4 hours of weekend work about once a month.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical support to end-users by promptly responding to help desk requests/inquires. Escalates problems as required to Marco support teams.
  • Provides training to new users and groups as needed.
  • Assesses functional needs of users, researches software products and makes recommendation to Director of Information Security and Technology for hardware/software purchases.
  • Performs and/or oversees software and application installation and upgrades.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments in the technology and banking industries.
  • Evaluates and determines computer equipment that needs replacement. Ensures that equipment is stripped of confidential information and properly disposed of.
  • May be required to support and backup the Help Desk Specialist responsibilities which include but are not limited to: the administration of users, maintenance of programs/configuration, and updating/maintaining documentation and procedures.
  • Observes security procedures.


Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a 4 year college or university preferred and/or 3-5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
