“We are thrilled to have raised over $8,000 this year for United Way, exceeding our campaign’s donation goal,” said Schreifels. “Each year, our employees go above and beyond to give back to our community with both their time and direct financial support. Because of their generosity and the bank’s steadfast sponsorship, we are able to help local non-profits thrive and grow.”

For the past 26 years, The Bank of Elk River has run an internal fundraising campaign. Each campaign will usually run one week in length and involves fun incentives for participating employees, including casual days, potlucks, and contests. All funds raised are then donated to Sherburne County Area United Way, who provides community support in Sherburne County via direct service programs such as iEmpower and Community Connect, as well as through local non-profit assistance.

For the fall 2017 campaign, bank employees were able to donate money to wear jeans, vote on a winning dish in a crockpot cook-off, submit photos of their pets for a “cutest pet contest”, and gather funds to help choose the fate of employees who volunteered to take a pie to the face – all to put the “fun” back in “fundraising”.

“This fall’s campaign was extremely successful from both financial and employee morale standpoints,” said Thatcher, who was one of the lucky employees to win a pie in the face. “These campaigns are a great way to bring employees together to celebrate the good we do in the community, and are a wonderful testament to how much we, collectively, care.”

The Bank of Elk River proudly serves the financial needs of individuals and businesses in Elk River, Otsego, Zimmerman and the surrounding communities.
