The Bank of Elk River is proud to announce it has awarded nearly thirty scholarships to area students for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Following a rich tradition of investing in local communities and supporting educational opportunities, The Bank of Elk River recently announced a scholarship program designated exclusively for bank employees, board members, and their families.

Four high school seniors who share in the bank’s values of lifelong learning and a steadfast commitment to volunteerism are the first-ever recipients of The Bank of Elk River Scholarship. All award winners will be personally recognized at the bank’s board meeting in June before attending a four-year university beginning in fall 2017.

The Bank of Elk River has also sponsored scholarships for more than twenty students from area high schools to help cover the cost of their collegiate education. In all, The Bank of Elk River has given $15,500 in scholarships to the local community in 2017.

“Personal improvement has always been a key component of The Bank of Elk River’s leadership initiatives,” said Julia Schreifels, Director of Marketing, The Bank of Elk River. “Pursuing higher education is critically important for many students, and helping defray their expenses is just one way we can encourage them to continue challenging themselves."

High school seniors in Anoka, Big Lake, Elk River, Princeton, Rogers, St. Michael-Albertville, and Zimmerman have received Bank of Elk River-sponsored scholarships. Winners were chosen based on a variety of criteria and have been honored at their respective school’s scholarship ceremonies.

The Bank of Elk River proudly serves the financial needs of individuals and businesses in Elk River, Otsego, Zimmerman and the surrounding communities.
